Shakespeare-On-The-Grass: Romeo and Juliet

By Syracuse Shakespeare-In-The-Park (other events)

6 Dates Through Jun 11, 2017

ABOUT ABOUT

Romeo and Juliet, our 6th annual show in the Shakespeare-On-The-Grass series, where all the action is played on the grass- very close to the audience for an intimate impact.  Usually viewed as the greatest tragic love story, don't miss Aaron Alexander as Romeo and Bella Calabria as Juliet- the star-crossed lovers.  Supporting roles feature the versatile Simon Moody as Friar Laurence, Marisa Chism as The Nurse, Jesse Navagh as Tybalt and Stephen Shepherd as Mercutio.

We are very pleased to welcome back the Syracuse City Ballet dancers doing Prokofiev’s pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet and Open Hand Theater puppets performing Renaissance dance when Romeo first sees Juliet at Capulet’s Ball.

A special show greets opening day, Friday, June 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. (yes, a.m.), when we are bringing hundreds of SCSD 8th graders to see the full length show (plus our delightful extras) in a spectacular outdoor setting.  See below for the balance of the run dates through June 11, 2017.
